Hello Edinburgh
MightyBox have arrived!
With over 30 years of leading the drive-in storage sector in Edinburgh, we have now launched our shipping container unit sites at Saughton Road North, Carrick Knowe (now available) and our flagship site at Craigleith, Groathill
Over the past 30 years we have specialised in traditional lock-up garage units and mini workshops, with self storage locations throughout Edinburgh, but over the past 5 years its been hard to ignore the rise of shipping container self
-storage as a cost effective, strong, and watertight solution, with its modular options and flexible sizing.
This marks a move away from warehouse multi-level style storage sites, with their synonymous elevators, stairs and narrow corridors. Modern storage requires quick, drive up access and customers will tolerate carrying items over long distances.
We also wanted to move on from the traditional “clunky” lock up garage style customer onboarding experience and replace it with a state of the art, streamlined user interface, where everything is in one place….from onboarding, ID checks to payments to contract signing and unit allocation. Now you even have the ability to drive up to one of our centres and register, pay and move in within 15 minutes using just a phone. No more lengthy phone calls to arrange storage.
Our traditional bricks and mortar model served us well and we now have some of the most impressive garage/workshop sites in the Lothian region, however the environment is extremely important to us and it has been hard to ignore the meteoric rise of shipping containers as the preferred choice in quick, easy access, sustainable storage.
Containers are made from galvanised (ferrous) Corten Steel which break down naturally but remain tough and durable (indeed, these boxes are designed for moving expensive products over huge distances in the toughest environments known to man over hundreds or thousands of trips).
This holds true to our core company ethos - to use naturally degradable materials and natural resources wherever possible. So we avoid using grid electricity, preferring to use solar power for our lighting and systems. We also only use green containers in order to best blend into natural surroundings.
We are going to open new sites very soon through 2025 and 2026. We have a dedicated service/onboarding/maintenance team on hand 7 days a week with one of our main aims being to provide the highest level of online, automated customer service but alongside the importance of having the option to talk to a staff member in person at short notice.
Edinburgh, remember the name MightyBox…you’re going to see a lot more of us!
